ANI Pharmaceuticals Announces the Launch of Methazolamide Tablets USP

Baudette, Minnesota (November 6, 2014) – ANI Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (“ANI”) (NASDAQ: ANIP) today announced the launch of Methazolamide USP 25mg and 50mg oral tablets, indicated for the treatment of ocular conditions. The US market for Methazolamide totals $24 million on a trailing 12 month basis, per IMS Health.


"We are pleased to announce the launch of our first product from the portfolio of approved generic products we acquired from Teva in January 2014. Methazolamide has been on the FDA’s drug shortage list over several months and we are very pleased that we can help to alleviate this shortage," said Arthur S. Methazolamide is indicated in the treatment of ocular conditions where lowering intraocular pressure is likely to be of therapeutic benefit, such as chronic open-angle glaucoma, secondary glaucoma, and preoperatively in acute angle-closure glaucoma where lowering the intraocular pressure is desired before surgery.
